Long-Term Noise Monitors with Remote Control and Download and with Off-Site Alarms (RCDS)

ANV Measurement Systems RCDS (Remote Control and Download Software) has been used to control and download Rion NL-32/22 Sound Level meters reliably since 2006. At its simplest, you operate the virtual instrument that appears on your screen when you run the software as if you had the meter in your hand. Because the Rion NL-32/22 stores the data as small comma separated variable text files, the data is transmitted reliably and quickly across the GSM network. Data security is assured because the data remains on the card within the NL-32/22 unless you choose to delete it or format the card.

The SMS Text Alert option for RCDS enables text message alerts to be sent out to up to 4 numbers when user-selected LAeq or LAmax levels are exceeded. The user can select different limits for up to three selectable periods allowing separate daytime, evening and night-time criteria to be set. If you receive an alarm, with the optional audio cable, you can dial into the modem’s voice number and listen to what is causing the exceedance. There is also an optional voltage tester which will send out an alert if the external supply voltage to the meter drops below a user-defined level.

RCDS can also be used with ARDS (Automatic Remote Download Scheduler). ARDS is a program which will download and restart up to 30 instruments automatically at times selected by the user. ARDS, for instance, will download and restart all your meters overnight so the data is there waiting for you on your computer when you get into work in the morning.

  • Start, stop, change settings remotely using the virtual instrument interface almost as if you have the instrument in your hands
  • Download logged data (in the form of comma separated variable text files) from the instrument via a telephone line
  • View the current sound pressure level in ‘real time’ over the GSM network
  • Audio cable option enables you to dial in to the instrument and listen to what is being measured
  • SMS Text Alert Option enables text message alerts to be sent out to up to 5 numbers when user-selected LAeq or LAmax levels are exceeded (different limits can be selected for up to three selectable periods)
  • Flexible power supply options available (e.g. 10 day battery life, mains with 4 day battery back-up and solar)
  • Meters can be downloaded and restarted automatically at user specified times using an additional program, ARDS (Automatic Remote Download Scheduler)
  • Available in Standard or Enhanced Outdoor kits or more permanent enclosures
