We have excellent instruments for sample noise measurements and sample vibration measurements but our reputation has been principally been built on our reliable, easy to use and realistically priced long-term noise and vibration monitors.
Our long-term construction noise meters differ from other suppliers and manufacturers because the standard microphones supplied with the instruments are used with Rion's simple but effective outdoor protection. With other manufacturers' kit you generally have to buy an additional and expensive outdoor microphone. This doesn't just have initial cost implications (these outdoor mics are often comparable in cost to buying an additional meter). Accidents do happen on construction sites and often it is the microphone (the most delectate and exposed element of a noise monitor) that gets damaged. This will cost hundreds of pounds to replace if it's a standard Rion mic but thousands of pounds to replace if it is a dedicated outdoor microphone of Scandinavian origin. This is one of the reasons that the Rion and ANV Measurement Systems are uniquely suited to construction and demolition sites.
Our vibration meters are different too. They're battery powered and can run for up to 4 weeks and they have been designed specifically for emolition and construction monitoring, not blasting.
